Webinar: Being a Psychologist During a Global Pandemic: Managing Challenges and Staying Resilient
Dr. Josefowitz will focus on the ways that COVID has created specific challenges for psychologists. She will examine challenges posed by our client’s clinical presentations as well as challenges related to how COVID has affected us as individuals who provide care to people who are suffering. Dr. Josefowitz will examine ways to cope with these challenges and maintain our resilience.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Dr. Nina Josefowitz is a psychologist in private practice and adjunct faculty member in the Department of Applied Psychology and Human Development at OISE/University of Toronto. She has offered workshops on CBT internationally in China, Ethiopia and India in addition to conducting workshops throughout Ontario to a variety of mental health agencies. In addition to her clinical work and teaching, Dr. Josefowitz has appeared in court numerous times as an expert witness in cases of childhood sexual assault, interpersonal violence and sexual harassment. Dr. Josefowitz was on the Council of the College of Psychologists for 9 years, and President of the College from 2001-2003. She has published in the area of trauma, cognitive behaviour therapy, women’s issues, forensic assessment, the sequalae of residential schools, ethics and clinical psychology. Her recent work includes the second edition of CBT Made Simple which she wrote with her co-author, Dr. David Myran. Additionally, in collaboration with Dr. Rosemary Barnes, she has recently published a series of articles on assessing the sequelae of sexualized violence in a forensic setting.
