The Canadian Society of Medical Evaluators and the Canadian Academy of Psychologists in Disability Assessment are pleased to present a conference focused on the complex relations amongst the brain, behavior and health with Canadian researchers of international recognition.
Speakers include Dr. Amir Minerbi, Dr. Valerie Taylor, Dr. Bobby Stojanoski and Dr. David Corey. Research regarding the bidirectional connection between the gut microbiome and the brain will be presented, including research results on the microbiome and fibromyalgia and on mental illness (psychobiotics), with implications for assessment and treatment.
We are also excited to have research presented from the lab of Dr. Adrian Owen regarding brain ‘death’ and consciousness www.theglobeandmail.com/life/health-and-fitness/health/neuroscientist-adrian-owen-recounts-his-decades-of-research-for-new-book/article35321685 and research regarding fMRI and brain injury.
In addition to the above, lawyers will present complex cases involving both psychological and physical injuries, and discuss how the cases were viewed by the court.
