Clinical and Rehabilitation Psychology

Dr. VanDeursen is a returning member to the Board of Directors of CAPDA.  He is a registered psychologist in the Province of Ontario practicing in Clinical and Rehabilitation Psychology.  Over the previous 25 years he has worked in a wide range of practice settings (including hospitals, community-based mental health, education, multidisciplinary rehabilitation programs and independent psychological practice).  He is currently the founding psychologist and Director at Main St. Psychological Centre, a group private practice of psychologists located in the Beach area of Toronto.

Since 1996, Dr. VanDeursen has maintained a full time private general psychological practice providing treatment, assessment and consultation services to children, adolescents and adults (including families and couples).  His work frequently occurs in a rehabilitation context involving wide ranging injuries and impairments.  He works extensively with traumatic brain injury.  He has a longstanding special interest working with adolescents and young adults and their families.

Although primarily focused on treatment and rehabilitation, and frequently with community based and multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams, Dr. VanDeursen has completed hundreds of psychological and disability examinations over the years (both plaintiff and defendant), and he has been qualified to testify as an expert witness.
